Contract Law and Lease Agreements

Contract Agreement

Not all contracts are in writing. Many legally binding contracts result from a discussion or series of discussions between two parties.

Even if a contract is in writing, pre-contractual negotiations between the parties may have created obligations that have not been included in the contract.

Our team of specialised commercial and litigation lawyers will be happy to assist you with your contractual needs, from assisting you with pre-contractual negotiations and drafting contracts to interpreting contractual provisions and representing you in legal disputes over the interpretation or termination of a contract.

Commerical & Residential Leases

We act for landlords and tenants of both commercial and residential premises. Particular care needs to be taken when one party wishes to bring a lease or residential tenancy to an end as wrong decisions can prove very expensive.

We can assist you to draft and interpret leases. We can advise you of your rights and represent you if a dispute arises.

For most of our commercial clients, we diarise dates and send out reminders for rent reviews and lease renewals and formally document those transactions. It is important to bear in mind that there are other factors that have an impact on your rights and obligations under a lease that are not included in the written terms of the lease, in particular the provisions of the recently enacted Property Law Act 2007.
